Meet Dr. Jaclyn Amaro - chiropractor

Dr. Amaro is an integrative chiropractic physician who combines her experience across chiropractic care, acupuncture and functional nutrition to enhance her patient’s lifestyles through mindfulness and health.

With over a decade of hands on experience working with patients throughout Chicago and New York, Dr. Amaro has been on the cutting edge of healthy living advocacy and is proud to take over The Center for Preventive Healthcare, one of Chicago’s leading integrated wellness centers.

Dr. Amaro obtained her Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine from National University of Health and Science where she graduated with highest honors and was distinguished as the salutatorian. In effort to offer her patients a unique and integrated approach to musculoskeletal and alternative patient care, she has pursued certifications in Active Release Technique (ART), the Webster Technique, Acupuncture and nutrition.

Her professional experience includes post-graduate training with a NFL team chiropractor at La Palestra in New York City, treating professional, college, and recreational athletes, tri-athletes, and semi-professional runners. Dr. Amaro also works extensively with patients to develop bespoke wellness plans that incorporates functional nutrition. With community as core value, Dr. Amaro also attempts to find opportunities to give back and has volunteered with Natural Doctors International in Nicaragua.

As a former competitive figure skater and World Silver Medalist in Synchronized Skating for Miami University in Ohio, Dr. Amaro knows the first-hand benefits of chiropractic and acupuncture for competitive athletes and every day health.

Dr. Amaro and her husband enjoy being back in their hometown of Chicago spending time with family and friends. She is enjoys exploring the city with her son Adrian, Pilates, and her energetic vizsla, Miles.

Meet Brittny Thomas-

Licensed Massage Therapist

Brittny Thomas is Centered Chicago’s licensed massage therapist with over 10 years of experience. She graduated from the Soma Institute in downtown Chicago and was trained in many different types of massage. Her most focused area is therapeutic with expertise more on the clinical side. She has experience in treating patients with headaches, upper and lower back issues, plantar fasciitis, shin splints, carpal tunnel, etc. She also has advanced training in manual lymphatic drainage. Brittny looks forward to treating you in the very near future!

Meet Nancy Sahagun - Office Administrator

Nancy Sahagun serves as our Front Desk Administrator at Centered Chicago. She has dedicated significant time to volunteering at various hospitals and clinics throughout the suburbs of Chicago. Nancy recently earned her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Illinois Chicago and is pursuing a graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering. She is enthusiastic about being a part of Centered Chicago and is committed to providing exceptional support and assistance!

Meet Taylor Hamlin- Licensed Acupuncturist

Taylor Hamlin, LAc, is a board-certified (NCCAOM) and licensed acupuncturist in the state of IL. She graduated from National University of Health Sciences as the acupuncture valedictorian. During her internship at the school’s clinic, Taylor has treated hundreds of patients. She has worked with patients who conditions included Bell's Palsy, Sjogren's syndrome, IVF, PCOS, migraines, arthritis, tinnitus, insomnia, stress, PTSD, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, arthritis, sciatica, allergies, and more. Taylor's passion is bringing the healing power of acupuncture to more people. As a previous patient, she understands the expectations patients have for their provider. Taylor listens to her patients, answers questions, and explains how Chinese medicine works to develop a personalized treatment plan. She also uses various modalities such as cupping, tui na, moxibustion, and gua sha to treat patients as she believes there is not just one way to help patients.
